I think it would help if the fountain was a better, perhaps more traditional, shape. Nice use of DoF though.

I see what you mean. The deep blue of the fountain is great but I think the blur of the tree and shrubs takes away from it. Perhaps a closer depth of field would have helped with less detail in the back.

It has wonderful colour, it follows the rules of composition, but I think I agree with others the fountain does not hold the eye like you may have hoped when you shot it.

I'm on two minds Elaine, yes/no... no/yes.... the more I look at it the more it looks just fine, but then I think perhaps the dof could be less. It's hard to say unless you had a before/after to compare, I think. And besides, I am only an amateur so you can't go by me. :) I am interested to read what others think though.
