Great Falls

Posted by
Elaine Hancock (Olney, United States) on 12 October 2012 in Landscape & Rural.

Great Falls taken from the Virginia side. The Potomac River builds up speed and force as it falls over a series of steep, jagged rocks and flows through the narrow Mather Gorge.

"There are moments when time stands still. You hope it will wait for you."

I like the shot, and I like how you kept the sky out of the frame. So many people include some sky and it only serves to drag the eye to the top of the frame.
