Breakfast is Over!

Posted by
Elaine Hancock (Olney, United States) on 31 January 2013 in Animal & Insect.

Or just beginning....the hawk appeared and the birdfeeder quickly became deserted. I think this is a Cooper's Hawk. I was in a rush (as usual) to get a picture of the hawk so I moved a little too much.

superbe prédateur !!!! magnifique !
pour le flou de bougé, il aurait fallu fermer un peu moins le diaphragme pour récuperer de la vitesse...1/30 de sec. c'est beaucoup trop lent pour une prise à main levée.. :)

@Lougris: Thank you! I appreciate your feedback. I will remember that!

Still a nice shot despite the bit of blur. These hawks are always exciting to see . . . well, except for the little birds around the bird feeder.

We have had that experience too. A hawk will come around and the poor little birds are gone in a flash. We have even had them crash into our window trying to get away. I have had no luck getting a shot of him. Nice one.

Belle prise tout de même : l'accent est mis sur le bec crochu et l'oeil perçant... :)

A regal pose that you got out of this hawk! I love its intense stare. Despite your movement, the detail is quite good, particularly from 450mm away.
