Eating Seed

Posted by
Elaine Hancock (Olney, United States) on 4 January 2014 in Animal & Insect.

It snowed about 5 inches yesterday. I put some birdseed on the railing of my deck to see what birds would come and eat. I believe that this is a house finch and a sparrow.

I think it's a neat idea to put some seed on a likely viewing spot and waiting to see what birds show up. Nice shot of them.

@Don: I have a bird feeder but I don't have a really good view of the feeder from my house. I decided to try it this way. I waited quite a while and the birds eventually showed up.

Lovely little birdies (finches, I would guess). I really like that long shadow cast by the tail of the right bird.

Stunning shot of cute birds. Excellent capture of their mealtime in the perfect timing. The right one is popular in my country, but the left one is never seen probably. Have a nice Sunday. :)

Fantastic capture and great idea to attract the birds at a different place than the feeders! We got 8 inches of snow when it was all over; we had an icing on Sunday; then this morning temps rose to 60 degrees F, and tomorrow a high of 12 degrees … crazy weather :)
