Large Farm

Posted by
Elaine Hancock (Olney, United States) on 16 March 2017 in Landscape & Rural.

This farm is not too far from where I live. I think that it only has horses. I have never seen any other animals. There is quite a bit of land behind this barn and the animals could be there and out of view.

Aren't those lipstick shaped objects grain towers? They would hold an awful lot of oats for an awful lot of horses :)

16 Mar 2017 11:47am

@grouser: You make a good point. Those are grain storage silos. I will have to start looking more closely when I drive by this farm and see if I can figure out what animals are there!

The large barn is beautiful and has many, many windows. Perhaps it is very good for a horse barn, an excellent picture.

What a picturesque beauty you've captured here!! I love the split rail fence that hugs the landscape throughout this frame!

That barn on the left is huge. I bet this was a big dairy operation back in the day. The fancy white fences say horses as you mention.

Wow, what an impressive and well-kept place! The state of the fences alone tells us so. This is how I remember some of the Amish farms ...
