Solomons Island is located along the Chesapeake Bay where the Patuxent River empties into the bay. I visited there on Tuesday.
Solomons takes its name from 19th century Baltimore businessman Isaac Solomon, who established a cannery there shortly after the Civil War. Solomon's home still stands on the front of the island.
"There are moments when time stands still. You hope it will wait for you."
