Twin Arch Bridge

Posted by
Elaine Hancock (Olney, United States) on 2 November 2017 in Architecture.

The Twin Arch Bridge was built in 1901 by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. The train tracks are situated on top of the bridge. Twin Arch Road runs under one of the arches, while the Patapsco River flows under the other. It is only a single lane road for cars as they pass under the bridge.

"There are moments when time stands still. You hope it will wait for you."
Dorothea Lange

Nice capture. We have one or two of these bottlenecks over here :)

@grouser: It was a bottleneck getting under it for sure.

This bridge makes a great picture. The single-car required to pass under is a bit dangerous. A fine shot.

A gorgeous photo of the picturesque bridge and lovely trees. Those arches were probably pretty wide back in the horse and buggy days.
