Catoctin Creek

Posted by
Elaine Hancock (Olney, United States) on 15 August 2018 in Landscape & Rural.

This creek flooded during the heavy rain that we experienced in May. It caused a lot of damage to the road and nearby houses.

always have a house on a nice gentle and stable hill is the lesson I think. Looks nice enough for a ramble now though

What a great image of the creek. A nice secluded place. Excellent color and detail. 5*

Now it's quiet, but we should not forget that water, sooner or later, always, claim what is hers. A creek is a creek.

A nicely-layered composition with great textures!! Looks like you can cross it with ease now. Thankfully we are not experiencing what some on the east coast have experienced. :-(

And now a trickle.
Here is BC, there seems to be a choice between flooding with mudslides and raging forest fires.

Looks a bit drier now but that uncovers some wonderful textures in the foreground. Lovely location.
