Black Rock Mill

Posted by
Elaine Hancock (Olney, United States) on 29 October 2019 in Architecture.

Black Rock Mill along Seneca Creek was built in 1815 and was active until 1920. It was put out of business by a larger mill that was constructed close by. The building was abandoned and over time the roof caved in. It was taken over by the Montgomery County Historical Society in 2002. The outer walls were shored up. It is still missing the roof.

"There are moments when time stands still. You hope it will wait for you."

Elle est jolie cette bâtisse, et si j'ai bien compris, son toit ne devrait plus tarder à retrouver sa place.
Bonne journée Elaine

I do hope that this excellent building will be fully restored. It really does need a roof to help protect the rest of the structure. 5*

It seems being put out of business by a larger enterprise is nothing new.
