Formally known as the Rear Admiral Samuel Francis Dupont Memorial Fountain, it is located at Dupont Circle in Washington, DC. Daniel Chester French was the sculptor who designed the fountain. It was dedicated on May 17, 1921 to the memory of Samuel Francis Dupont who was an admiral during the Civil War and played a large part in the modernization of the navy.
