Water Works

This is not the picture I had planned for today. Stella had not urinated for over 48 hours. She was drinking fine but wouldn’t go. I had taken her out multiple times and was pleading with her to “go pee pee” but nothing. I had talked to her surgeon a few times. Last night they sent me to their emergency veterinarian on call. An ultrasound showed that her bladder was full. The doctor palpated Stella’s abdomen and it must have stimulated her to go and she went and went and went. I didn’t get home until after midnight. I will be so glad when she is back to her normal self again.

So much anxiety ... but it is back in order! I also hope that quickly everything will be finished as much for you as for her!

@Mhelene: Thank you Mhelene. I hope so! Poor Stella needs to get out of this cage!

Coucou Elaine,

@Pascale MD: It's is terrible to see our little friends suffer like that. I will be glad when everything is back to normal!

You were right to take Stella to the vet for palpation to help her evacuate. It's quite normal for humans to have their urinary functions blocked after an operation, which is probably why Stella was "stuck". We'll all be happy when you write that Stella is well and back to her pre-surgery self.

@Marie: Thank you so much Marie.

The doctor on duty did a good job for Stella.

@Willem: I think so too.

Poor Stella. One problem after another but hoping things will improve.

@Ron: Hopefully this will be it and she will get back to the way she was soon.

So glad to hear that Stella is back to normal with her urinary function. It must have been a scary few hours there. Her face captured here tugs at the heartstrings. (((((((Stella))))))

@Steven: Thank you Steven. Hopefully that will be the last of any problems and she can have a normal recovery.
